Pretty Spicy

Goodbye ugly spices, hello pretty spices.

It was so simple, I can't believe I didn't do it sooner. My IKEA love friend, Charlene (who has no blog to hyperlink to...yet...) told me of a simple Target item (sorry, IKEA) that helped me organize those spices.

This seems like such a BASIC place to organize, like most people have already figured out how to organize their spices. I had them in little trays that I would slide out and look through... but my spice collection grew to overflowing, and that method didn't work anymore. Look at the ridiculous amount of spices here:

I did a little bit of purging, a little bit of consolidation (I had 3 garlic salts, 2 basils, 2 oreganos - disorganization is a money waster, too...), add an ingenous stairstep spice organizer, and voila!

Pretty Spices!

You and your uncle have been on the same wavelength lately between the whole female drivers thing and the spices...he just took out all of our spices and consolidated them and purged and put them back in. They look cute right now, but I wouldn't say pretty.

I use a drawer to put all of my spices in. I pull out the drawer and can see exactly what I need and the drawer is right next to my stovetop where I need them to be handy too!

Do you keep opening that door just to look at it and beam with pride?

I would.

Nice. I have got to get mine cleaned too. I would be looking at that all day long to stay motivated. You Rock. I watched Oprah's cleaning show today and took ten minutes to follow the simple tips and cleaned a few kitchen cupboards. The guy said if you stuck with the steps he will walk you through your house will look different in six months. You can also download a 20% coupon for the Container Store for all you who are in the process of taking your house back. It is good for a week.
